The construction industry provides high income career opportunities, and these highly skilled workers are in HUGE demand.  Apprenticeships (combining training and paid work) are the way to get through the door and get your training and education done quickly, at virtually no cost to you. The Mechanical Contractors Association of Memphis, Local 614 and Plumbers local 17 offer apprenticeship opportunities available for applicants residing in West Tennessee, parts of Arkansas and Mississippi. We offer apprenticeship opportunities in pipefitting, welding and HVAC technicians. 

HVAC Technicians

Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Service Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and fixing plumbing, heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems in various settings like businesses, and industries. Their work contributes to enhancing energy efficiency, and the demand for these skilled professionals is substantial. The field offers steady employment throughout the year, along with competitive wages and benefits.

Pipefitters

Pipefitters are skilled professionals who create, set up, and upkeep intricate piping systems in diverse mechanical setups across commercial and industrial contexts. Their work spans from crafting high-pressure process pipes utilizing materials like carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialized alloys, which are crucial for intricate projects such as hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, refineries, manufacturing units, and utilities.

Commercial Plumbing

Plumbers play a crucial role in maintaining public health and safety by installing drinking water, waste, and ventilation systems in various settings, including offices, schools, hospitals, and manufacturing facilities. They also work on wastewater treatment systems, both large and small. As society emphasizes green technologies, water conservation, and energy efficiency, the demand for plumbers is expected to rise significantly in the coming years.

Commercial Welding

Welding is a construction activity generally used for joining materials together through the application of heat. A welder is a technician who uses heat, gas, and complex machinery to join metal and other substances together or repair and fill holes on metal construction. Starting a career as a welder requires you to understand common welding duties.
